Okay, you probably can't see it real well, but still, that grass looks good, doesn't it?
That flower bed to the left of the house? The tallest shrub is a butterfly bush. That sucker gets HUGE! I cut about 1/2 of it down in the fall. It just amazes me. I have two burning bushes, and some other stuff that looks real pretty when it blooms. And that tree over the back top of my house? That is the ONLY live part of it. It's skinny and ugly, and when the blows really hard, different parts of it fall off. The one on the back left is big and beautiful though!
This is one of my flower beds. Those are Dianthus at the front, then Purple Niffty Thriffty (you can't really see them that well), White Candy Tufts, and the along the back and side are Pink Azaleas.
I have purple Phlox along both sides of the driveways. One died last year and I can't find the EXACT color to replace it. Ariana LOVES these things!
And just to give you an idea of how hard I have worked, I'm standing in my front yard taking a picture of the house across the road. She flat out doesn't care. Oh, and my Japanese Maple I spent $100 on three Springs ago? It hasn't grown an inch, and in fact, I thought it died last year due to the frost snap we had after it bloomed.
By the way, I do NOT let Chris mow. He couldn't mow a straight line if it was drawn for him. I let him try once, and the lines starting going all curvy and slanting right. NOT going to happen again!

A woman lawn Nazi- who'da thunk? My yard usually looks like prime real estate in Mordor... :)
It's BEAUTIFUL!! I am so envious ... we are still in winter recovery mode out here - nothing is green or even close to blooming!
Wow-you have yard OCD, but it's paid off. Nice!
Nice!! You really know how to make it grown Bina baby! (I wish my lard looked that good - maybe I should hire you)
wow....everything is so GREEN and flowers!!!! We have NOTHING like that yet...well, I DID have crocuses tyhis year, and a few daffodils are up but that is it. green yard?...uh, that would be a NO.
But I LOVE your house!!! It is beautiful!!! And just look what you came from Bean! AMAZING!!!!
For those of you who aren't lucky enought to know Bina in person...let me tell ya, this girl had NOTHING growing up. Her house was ...not the best..let's just leave it at that.
But look at you NOW!~!!! And you did it ALL BY YOURSELF!!! I'm so damn proud I could bust...
love you girl and I can't wait till July!!
excellent!
wow, what a beautiful yard!!!! Its awesome girlfriend!! woohooo go you :)
I just phlox and you dont see them as much as you used to. My dad had a green thumb and he loved phlox too.
BUT do you really HAVE to mow in a straight line? man I would not make it your house :)
Ya think your husband mowed that way in purpose so he wouldn't "get" to do it again? I know I would if I were him! That's a helluva yard!
I've got some butterfly bushes, too, and they DO get nice and big, don't they? I also like chaste trees/vitex. They're super drought tolerant and look somewhat similar to the buddleia, but grow even faster and bigger. They bloom only in lavender, though.
Beautiful. Your hard work is quite evident. We do our damnedest to have a low maintenance yard.
That lawn is stunning. Mine is crap, but i live out in the boonies so it's more like pasture land than lawn.
I know this is terrible... but every time I hear Mary Mary quite contrary I can't help but think of Andrew Dice Clay... sad I know.
Psst. When you get a minute I have something for you over on my blog. *wink*
Your yard looks absolutely gorgeous. Just like my neighbors. We unfortunately have the yard of people across the street.
Are we just a bit OCD?
Lawn looks MAHVELOUS!!
We still have snow.
Hallie
You've done really well. Every thing looks lovely! Well worth the money for water & seed.
GASP! Look at your beautiful home and flowers!!!!! GORGEOUS GIRL!
It's all so very lovely! You've done a great job. I'm very jealous. Right now, I have 15 year old landscaping that's never been trimmed or taken care of (except what I was able to do last summer). I'm waiting for my daffodils and tulips to die down so I can dig up the bulbs, then it ALL goes!
And ummm, are you like my husband where you mow horizontally one time, diagonally the next, etc so that you don't damage the lawn?
niiiice yard! It looks gorgeous - all your hard work has def paid off.
Your lawn looks so nice. You can come fix mine. :)
It's very pretty. You did a great job! I am one of the "really don't care" club. But, maybe if we owned our own house I would care more.... Your house is beautiful!
Yeah, um, could you come take care of MY yard now??!
GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm coveting your house Bina. And our gardener is fabulous too. Send a little gardening magic this way, will you?
Your yard looks beautiful. It is the type of yard I have always wanted, but will never have, unless we hire a lawn service. We just don't have that touch! You sure do! It really looks great.
XOXOXO
I love mowing the grass but I can't get it that pretty! This year we invested in a lawn service to treat for the weeds and make our lawn oh so pretty! I wish you could come here and give me some tips for mine!
Pretty lawn! Nice house!
What a beautiful garden! Looks like LOTS of work was involved, but it was worth it.
